Geez Creepshow 2 gave me the willies. That 'no swimming' installment in particular! That scene on the raft where the girl is laying on her side... then when she turns around that 'Blob' stuff is all over her face..Yuck!

DRAGONLADY you are SOO right about the 'Evolution' of creature FX. Ditto about how CGI tends to look too 'cartoony'. (The mostly CGI monster in Alien 3 did nothing for me, while the creatures in the 1st two flicks STILL give me shivers!) One of the few recent flicks where the CGI monsters looked authentic and not 'hokey' was the awesome STARSHIP TROOPERS.

Ya know I think I will definitely be renting the THING tomorrow night...

The only movie that ever gave me nightmares was Pet Semetary. Of course, watching it when I was young, impressionable, and while at a sleep-over that happened to be in a house way out in the woods didn't help either...

And if anyone's curious, that Evolution site Elwing posted does have some (slightly okay, half-way decent) Kurt-fic. Look under Kiwiberry, PallaPlease, Prism, Sarafina22, and, if you're wondering what the comic continuum X-men would think of their Evolution counterparts, take a look at Trah's piece of work.

And the only show that ever gave me nightmares was that episode of Batman that had the origin of Two-Face. I was sitting way too close to the TV during his close-up. EEK!

I agree; Evo fanfics are cute. Some get a little too sticky-sweet, but overall, they have such an innocent view of the world...or x-world I guess. It seems like new stories have petered off lately. I hope some more will be written after the new ep shows.

The Evo fanfics. Most of them are so sweet, they make me gag. There are a few good ones but the "Kurtty" ones...*shudder* Ugh. I guess I'm just not the romantic type.

I've read Pet Cemetaty. Pertty good. Creepy movie, but good. Jyuu-chan, Fasheem is talking to you. He's (She's?) just using the last part of your name.

*snerks* Yanno, I saw that word and just sat there, saying it out loud at varying volumes, just to see if it sounded better than when it first flashed through my fore-brain.

It didn't.

But aside from that, I'm able to stomach perhaps up to 15 or so Send-a-rhino-into-insulin-shock fics. Then I just want to sneer in disgust and go off and read a deathfic or nonconNC17slashfic. These have just caught me in a mood.

Plus, Evo fics are like the baby siblings of Comic-continuum fics. They don't know any better, but give them time and a few swift kicks to the head and maybe they'll straighten out.
